Jim Stephenson
Jim serves as Pastor of Adult Life Development. He works with Small Groups, Adult Discipleship and Lifeline Ministries. Jim and his wife, Jean, come to us from 16 years of missions ministry developing and training leaders in the Caribbean, the UK and Africa. The Stephensons have two married daughter

Family stats: Jean and I have been married 39 years in 2002. We have two married daughters and two wonderful sons-in-laws
How I met my wife: We met in French class in high school

Education: Electronics school, military training, two years college
How I became a Christian? My mother led me to Christ when I was a child
How I came to be at Smart Solutions Church? Came to Bend from 16 years overseas missions ministry to rest for a while.
The best thing about being a Christian? Purpose and community
Favorite movie: Blues Brothers
Favorite place: The National Gallery – London, UK
Favorite food: Prime rib
How I spend my days off: Riding my motorcycle in woods or desert, exploring Central Oregon, working in the yard, reading
My most interesting experience: Speaking at a funeral in Jamaica with the Prime Minister in the front row and both aisles lined with body-guards with machine-guns.
Personal project I can’t wait to finish: Writing GraceNotes into a book
My first job: Working on a dairy in Tillamook when I was 11
Best childhood memory: Driving tractors and farm equipment in Tillamook when I was a kid
Most powerful book I’ve ever read (besides the Bible): “Miz Lil and the Chronicles of Grace”
What I will ask Jesus when we meet?: Did Adam have a navel?
My prized possessions: Not much I couldn’t let go of. I like my bike.
Spiritual gifts: Exhorter, faith teaching, pasturing, giving, administration, missionary, words of knowledge, healing
A time when I felt very close to God: Very often when praying for people for healing
I would love to meet: Bible – Barnabas; Historical – Abraham Lincoln
