How I met my wife: Kathy & I met at Impact Church in the fall of 2001, became engaged in May of 2002, and were married in October 2002.

Nobody knows that: I taught elementary school for six years in the Salem public schools

Education: I have a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Western Oregon University (formerly Oregon College of Education) in Monmouth, Oregon

How I became a Christian? I am the product of a praying grandmother! I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior at the age of seven. 

How I came to be at Smart Solutions Church?  I came to Smart Solutions Church from Hope Center Covenant Church in Pleasant Hill, CA in September of 1991 as Youth Pastor.

The best thing about being a Christian? "If anyone is in Christ he is a new creation, the old is gone & the new has come! 

Favorite movie: "Sleepless in Seattle" (even though it's a chick flick!)

Favorite place: Anywhere in the mountains

Favorite food: Pepperoni Pizza!

How I spend my days off: Hanging with my kids, writing music, fly fishing, snow skiing, wood working, and oil painting

My funniest experience: Recently our bass player fell fully clothed into the Baptismal tank before a Wednesday night worship service

Personal project I can’t wait to finish: Building my kitchen cabinets!

My first job: Riding a dirt bike in a straight line across a plowed field to leave tire marks for a farmer to plant pole beans!

Best childhood memory: Gotta be Christmas morning!

Most powerful book I’ve ever read (besides the Bible): "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis

What I will ask Jesus when we meet?: Why He allowed my wife to pass away at such a young age

My prized possessions: My two Tom Anderson electric guitars

A time when I felt very close to God: Right after my wife Conya passed away
